Its deep loggias are deliciously Palladian. Vicenza comes to Zürich. Its painted decorations are supremely Pompeiian. Naples arrives in Zürich. Although being Swiss, Leonhard couldn’t resist adding window shutters.

The von Wesendoncks were great pals with the composer Richard Wagner and his wife Minna. The Wagners lived for a while in a cottage on the estate. Villa Wesendonck is one of three villas with gardens flowing into one another which together form Museum Rietberg.
